About the developer

Story
The story began in Northies, one of the separate kingdoms in the medieval time, where a violent and cruel political coup was happening. Regarded as the fiercest warrior since the beginning of kingdom, Lord Gran was suddenly charged with treason and beheaded when the new young king was crowned and ruled. All his loyal followers and servants were also exiled or assassinated. Posing threats to the kingdom, the conspiracy was believed to be spearheaded by the sadistic leader of the Holy Army, Lord Barnett, who was rising to power in the church and among the nobility, and ultimately, controlling the new king.
10 years ago, when Lord Gran was severely wounded in a war, he was saved from death by a kid and his villagers. In order to show his gratitude, he taught and trained the kid to fight with a sword and offered the villagers an abundance of resources. After his death, for the fear of oppression, Lord Barnett massacred the whole village in the name of purging infidels. Having learnt of the brutal truth, the kid who managed to escape was determined to find out the reason of Lord Gran’s death and take revenge, accompanied by his buddies met in his journey.

Defense Task Force is an infinite waves tower defense game for PC. Featuring Large Scale Procedurally Generated Tower Defense Battles with FPS Quality Visuals. 10 tower types with different attack behaviours, each with 3 upgrade levels, plus many levels of boosts. 25 species of enemy alien units plus 3 which are spawned by other enemy alien units. Enemy alien classes include Regular Units, Swarmers, Racers, Cloakers, Healers, Boss Units and Spawners.
Your role as commander is to defend the platform that’s built to harvest energy and power Earth. You can defend by strategically building fortification towers to defend the harvesting platforms against aliens called Kraken. As commander it’s upto you how you use your resources against the Kraken.
Game Overview
The game is staged on a beautifully rendered planet with dynamic procedurally generated scenery. Many elements of the game including the enemy waves are generated procedurally offering a unique experience each game. Rather than a single master solution to each game level there are a whole multitude of possibilities. Instead of a linear 20 mission campaign, each mission is in part designed by the players choice of planet region, sector, and game level layout. Additionally a tech research tree provides an opportunity for the player to develop even more strategies as they progress through the game.
Defense Task Force features 25 different types of enemy units versus 10 types of towers deployed by the player. Each tower features completely different attack behaviors, 3 upgrade levels and individual attribute boosts. The player needs to invest their rewards from winning each game level into researching a deep technology tree to unlock these before they may be used in game. The choice of which technology to research has a direct impact on the strategy options available to the player. Great care is being taken with respect to game balancing such that there is no single super tower. The attack behavior of the ten tower types are both different and complementary to each other.
Once each mission is won you may proceed to the next mission or continue and try survive as many waves as you can.
Game Features
Large Scale Procedurally Generated Tower Defense Battles with FPS Quality Visuals.
The main storyline features a campaign of 20 missions which would provide at minimum 15 hours of gameplay. The campaign structure is significant non linear aspects which make each level replayable in multiple different ways.
The enemy waves are procedural generated with randomness for infinite mode gameplay of never ending waves. Additionally when playing the same mission a second time the wave composition will be different. The waves are composed of a total of 25 different types of alien enemy units plus 3 additional units which are spawned by other units. Each type of unit has differences based on speed, hit points, shield, strengths/weaknesses against tower types and special abilities providing for a large multitude of strategies to beat the players towers.
The game features dynamic environments based on: procedurally generated background terrain and weather. Additionally the game level itself is based on a combination of environment and player selected game level layout (blueprint). These combinations provide very high replayability and variability of the same mission.
The campaign is divided into 5 regions each containing 4 sectors to create a total of 20 missions. However the game level layout of each mission is dependent on the blueprint (energy mining platform) which the player researches and deploys for the mission.
Ten types of towers are provided each with 3 upgrade levels. Additionally the third level tower can have its individual attributes such as rotation speed, damage, etc… upgraded individually. All of these upgrades must first be researched in a deep skills tree before they can be used in the game. Each tower type has a unique attack profile allowing the player to build a very wide variety of tower combinations. No tower is superior to others and to win the player must use a range of towers.
Skills, unlock and research tree. The player uses energy gained from winning missions for both unlocking and researching. For the missions each region and sector must be unlocked before they can be played. Each blueprint (game level layout) must be researched before it can be deployed. Each skill such as global skills as well as tower upgrades must be researched before they are available in game.

We realize that a kart racing game has to have a lot of modes to ensure all types of players can enjoy our game to the fullest, that’s why we have prepared some variations of what our players can expect when they start their karting experience. Take a look!
Enjoyable Singleplayer
The singleplayer experience is really important to us as we would love to bring back the times when the player had to go through each track, unlock its secrets or simply play a track and show your friends who has got the best time. Play through the Adventure and challenge your friends in the Arcade. Remember, if you are tired of getting hit by that pesky rocket you can race your friends in our Speed mode – only pure skill matters!
Online Multiplayer
Join the competitive online multiplayer. If you have what it takes, do not hesitate to show your skills to the entire world, but beware, you will be putting your drifting ability to the most difficult test! Can’t get your friends to play locally? Invite them over and play to your heart’s content. You got those buddies at your home? Play split-screen multiplayer online together!
Split-screen/ Split-Screen Multiplayer
Play with up to 6 of your friends in split-screen. The more the merrier; let the old-school couch party make a dramatic comeback as you race against your friends for that everlasting glory. We’re bringing back those neighborhood rivalries so you can relive the nostalgia once again! Bring your friends and battle it out for old times sake!
Various Game Modes
There’s a lot to choose from, but keep in mind that all of our game modes are available in both singleplayer and multiplayer, even with split-screen multiplayer! Dodge toxic barrels, collect fuel, find hidden letters and even race with your friends in a relay race! A lot of game modes, so there’s definitely a lot to do in The Karters!
6 Unique Characters
Allow us to present you our determined heroes of The Karters. All characters are playable, each with its very own voice and behavior. Each fueled by its own motivation to be the best kart racer there is, the competition can get pretty intense. It is true of what they say, the Karters roster is filled with characters possessing extraordinary driving skills, but the most important factor which is often overlooked is that each member is one of the most determined and competitive individuals on the entire Astoc Island. That’s what the Gerbil Magazine states anyway. Complete a character’s story in the Adventure mode and you will unlock the golden skin in both singleplayer and multiplayer!
6 Exciting Maps
The Astoc Island consists of regions with their very own ecosystems. The entire island features two enormous and dusty Kanyons (not a typo!), two wild Jungles of which one is more industrialized than the other and with two calm and pleasant Beaches to wrap things up (more tracks in the future!)

As great fans of Crash Team Racing, we used to wonder what this game would look like in modern times. While browsing through various forums about CTR, it became clear to us that the community shares our desire for a more up-to-date karting game, especially the one that would support online multiplayer. In The Karters, we are trying to bridge the gap that CTR has left. We realize that Crash Team Racing is a legend that set the bar high. However, by putting a strong emphasis on the mechanics and marking the game with its unique style, we do hope The Karters will bring players lots of joy and pure fun.
